Sri Ramananda Tirtha Rural Institute is a very old organization
which works under the department of Rural Welfare. They have all kind of
courses for rural youth.
Except for Computers, they do not charge fee for any
other course. The fee for computer course - Photoshop, DTP, Tally etc.,
they charge 250 rs. as they give material.
The following are the courses being offered:
1. TV Repair
2. Cell Phone Repair
3. Domestic Wiring (house wiring)
4. All Electric Appliances Repair
5. Solar Cell Making - Knowledge of Photo Voltaic Cells
6. The repair of farm instruments - right from tractors to new age tools
7. Food Processing
8. Garment Making - Different types of stitching, fabric painting etc.,
9. Bag Making
10. Two wheeler/four wheeler repair
RTC employs
the students who learn the four wheeler repair. For four wheeler repair,
the students learn the basics here. In two wheeler repair, they learn
everything. They can even start their own mechanic shed.
They also give them awareness of different govt.
schemes, the guidelines for drafting the proposals, information of bank
loans etc.,
The courses are of one month to three
month duration. The batches are fixed and they run on particular period
only. If the students are from outstation and want to stay in a hostel,
they have to pay Rs. 700 a month which is very nominal by any means.
They have 64 centers in AP thought not all are as full
fledged as this center. If any NGO or an individual comes forward to
give the premises and pay for the maintenance, SRTRI provides the
infrastructure and faculty.
In fact, Akkineni Nageswara Rao has set up one center in Venkatapuram, his native.
